  • Strangled Memories: The Case Study of Robert Israel

  • Investigating Strangulation

  • Beyond the Walls of Violence: How Fear and Survival Impact Investigations

The Statewide Law Enforcement Training on Violence Against Women Program (VAWT) was developed by the Sexual Assault Family Violence Investigators Course (SAFVIC) in 2010 to create a statewide conference for law enforcement and telecommunicators personnel.

The purpose of the VAWT program is to assist in developing and strengthening effective law enforcement and prosecution strategies to combat violent crimes against women and to develop and strengthen victim services in such cases statewide. The program was initially funded in 2010 through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, S.T.O.P Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Program Grant from the Criminal Justice Division (CJD) of the Texas Governor’s Office.
